Welcome to the Magical Manor

I'm Tig.

I fell in love with the magical world at age 11, just like Harry. He and his friends gave me an escape I desperately needed into a world totally different—and better—than mine. Harry Potter opened the door to all things fantasy, really, and I've been a voracious reader ever since.

Fanfiction is a natural extension of that, and I got back into it a few years ago with the sudden explosion of the Dramione (that's a Draco x Hermione pairing for the uninitiated) fandom. And of course, when I say I "got back into it" I mean I dove headfirst into AO3 and didn't come up for air until 18 months later. I love the art and community of fanfiction so much I learned how to bookbind (and for me it was NOT easy though incredibly rewarding) to validate and honor these authors' work by creating physical copies to sit on my shelves alongside other greats.

(And as a reminder, it is illegal, unethical, immoral, and selfish as fuck to obtain physical copies of fanfiction through mass printers, independent assholes, or shady trades. You can and should hand bind it yourself! Read more here.)

When it came time for my husband and I to move, I started thinking about how I wanted the new house to look. I was basically living in Dramione fanfic at the time, reading my favorites over and over again, and during the more tedious moments of my normal life I found myself wondering what their house might look like.

See, as much as I love all things fantasy and magical, I'm also extremely picky (and rather sophisticated, or so I'd like to pretend). I like high quality things that evoke a sense of magic in real life instead of, say, a Harry Potter poster. When people walk into my house I don't want them to think "Oh, a Harry Potter fan lives here." I want them to think "...does an actual witch live here?"

What would Draco and Hermione's house look like today, in 2023?

That's what you'll find in the Magical Manor: items geared towards creating a feeling of 'everyday magic.' Some things have a hint of darkness to them (the Malfoys were Dark witches and wizards for a time, after all, and don't we all have our own dark sides?), others are lighter in mood. You'll see nods to broader areas of fantasy like dragons, fae, and vampires with a few bookish and fanbinding resources in between. Everything you see is high quality and personally vetted by me, having been put through the paces of everyday life and passing my lofty standards. I hope you find something you like.
